Women don’t know all the options scarfs provide!
- When a woman first looses her hair, she buys a scarf to cover her head. It’s understandable. I did the same things. It’s a process and journey to get use to seeing your head without hair. So, it’s completely natural to want to keep your head covered. But scarves don’t usually come with directions about how to tie them, so women end up simply wrapping them around their heads like a large bandage and wondering why they look sickly or like a pirate wearing a bandana.
- Two big misconceptions are that headscarves are hard to wear, and that there are only limited styles of how to wear them. Let me reassure you, there are so many easy ways to tie a headscarf that will give you the ability to still show off your character and style, while having no hair.
Most Women Never Plan to Go Bald!
- Most women never plan to lose their hair, whether from medical treatments or from an auto immune disease. It’s just not common to have a plan in place for if your hair happens to fall out completely.
- My hair fell out within 14 days and I had no clue what all my options were. I stuck with hats and wigs because they were easy to put on my head. It wasn’t until 7 years into being bald that I discovered all the fun ways to utilize and tie a headscarf. It was my younger sister who opened my eyes to the world of headscarves. She sent me a picture of herself wearing a colorful scarf with a large Mini Mouse bow tied at the front. It was so cute and I was tired of my wigs and hats. I began experimenting with new ways of tying my scarfs. I pulled them into pony tails and twisted them into fun knots. It was great and really help me find my identity as the scarf girl. I wore them long and flowy, like hair, and I wore them all wrapped up on top of my head.
