Learn how to apply false lashes flawlessly and easily. Tips and tricks that will help your lashes look great and stay on all day!
- Most of the women who come to me for help with applying false lashes don’t have any eyelashes and they’re not sure where to begin. They’re not even sure if they can wear false and have they stay on all day.
- I had a brand new acquaintance come to my home one evening because she had just found out she had alopecia and had no idea wear to begin with eyelashes, eyebrows, and scarves. I showed her how to apply her eyelashes. The next morning I received a text from her that she was amazed that she could apply the lashes herself with the tricks and tips I had showed her.

Techniques I Cover For Applying False Lashes ?
- There are many different techniques and products to help you apply false lashes. I will cover my two most affective and favorite ways to go about it.
- First! A common misconception is that you need to have eyelashes to apply false lashes. This is not true. Most of the time I have no lashes. Another misconception is that many people think there is only one way to apply false lashes. This couldn’t be further from the truth. There are actually many different ways to apply lashes. So, if one way does not work out for you, don’t give up. try another method and you’re sure to find one that works for you and your situation.
How to get started with your new false lashes!
Choose what method you would like to try. I will cover two methods of applying false lashes. Magnetic Lashes, and Adhesive glue on lashes
- Magnetic Lashes–
- I use the Arishine Magnet kit. It comes with 5 pairs of different lash styles and two black magnetic liners.
- Magnetic liner stays on well and is more difficult to come off. This is good, because you don’t want your lashes to fall off during the day. When your ready to remove the eyeline, use coconut oil. It will come off pretty easily.
- Lashes stay on well, even if my eyes water from the cold or allergies.

- Adhesive glue on lashes–
- I love the Kiss adhesive for applying lashes. It stays tacky/sticky, so if your lashes come off during the day, you can let them air dry and reapply them most of the time.
- The Kiss adhesive comes off easily when you remove your lashes at the end of the day. No fuss or mess.
- I love long and thick lashes and choose Salon Perfect Extension Seeker. You can get them at most Wal-Mart stores.
- If you sweat or your eyes water, the lashes may come off and need to be reapplied.

Tips for Successfully Applying False Lashes and Have Them Stay!
No matter which method you choose to try, there are a few things you should always do to help make the application process so much easier for you.
- Trim your lashes to fit the length of your upper eyelid. If you leave them long, they may fall off more easily and look unnatural. (I do not cut the magnet lashes, they aren’t too long anyway, and you don’t want to cut off the magnets).
- Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler, or using your fingernail. This will fan out and separate the lashes, making them more flexible so they stay on easier. They also look more natural with a bit of curl. (careful not to over due it, or pull out the lashes).
- Apply your adhesive.
- Magnetic liner is applied directly to your eyelid along your lash-line. I make a wing tip on the outside of my lids to be sure all the magnets have magnetic liner to hold them in place. (See video below for visual direction)
- Kiss Adhesive is applied in a thin, even layer along the eyelash strip
- IMPORTANT. You must let the both the magnetic eyeliner and the Kiss adhesive dry. The magnetic on the lashes will automatically cling to the liner when it’s dry. The Kiss adhesive will become tacky as he dries to a clear color and will stick to your eyelid. If you apply your lashes while the kiss adhesive is wet, it will slip, or come off and be very difficult to apply smoothly.
- Once the liner or adhesive is dry, apply your lash from the inside corner of your upper eyelid and slowly moving outward.
- The magnets will cling to the eyeliner and you DO NOT want to lift and shift them once they cling to it, or you can pull up the eyeliner. So place them down gently and carefully, moving outward
- The glued lashes will be tacky and want to stick to your eyelid. Once you have them in place, gently press them onto your eyelid to be sure they are secured in place.
- Perfect! If they were trimmed to size, curled and fanned out, the glue or liner left to dry or become tacky, and then the lashes place from inside to outside and pressed gently into place, your eyelashes should last you all day long.
Common Questions About Applying, Maintaining, and Caring for False Lashes.
- Are false lashes a one-time use, or can I use them multiple times?
- You can use your lashes many times. When you take them off, gently peel off any glue with your fingers and place them in a safe place.
- Can I sleep in my false lashes?
- You can if you don’t sleep on your stomach, or in a position that has your face shoved into your pillow. If you sleep on your back, your eyelashes should be safe.
- How do I clean my false lashes?
- to remove glue, use your fingers to gently pull the glue off of the strip. do this gently so as to not pull any lashes off. Use a brow comb to brush through lashes. This will remove dust and keep the lashes straight. You can only use dry methods to clean them. Do not get them wet.
- Can I layer on more than one set of eyelashes?
- Yes, and this is a good way to get a natural layered look. glue your eyelashes together before putting them on. Magnetic lashes will hold together without glue, because of their magnets. I have warn up to three pairs of lashes at one time, for a more feathered look. I put together long, short, and wide lashes.
- How many times can I wear my false lashes?
- This is going to depend highly on the quality of the lashes. I have used lashes that have fallen apart the first time I used them, and I have used one set of lashes up to 20 times before tossing them out. Always review the quality of the lash and be gentle with them.
- What other glue would you recommend?
- I also like the black adhesive glue that you can buy from Sally’s. It comes in a white generic tube. Get the black one, not the white one.
